2012The fourth annual Race for Joe will be held on April 7th, 2012. Save the day!
2011
The third annual Race for Joe was held on April 23rd, 2011. Despite heavy rains all week long leading up to race day, it stayed dry during the event. 182 runners crossed the finish line and once again we were able to award two $1,000 scholarships. This year's outstanding winners were Michael Buchert (football) and Travis Speicher (wrestling).
2010
The second edition of the Race for Joe was a great success, with 202 finishers. Thanks to generous donations from sponsors and individuals, we were able to award two $1,000 scholarships. This year's winners are Daniel Pegher (wrestling) and Ryan Ruppert (basketball).
2009
2009 was the first annual Race For Joe. We are certainly planning to make this a long-lasting annual event!
Community support has been excellent so far.
"This event will have a positive impact on our community", said Franklin Park Borough Manager Ambrose Rocca in an e-mail, adding "We wish you every success in sponsoring this memorial race and recognizing the life of Joseph Guzzetti".
Brook Park Civic Association President Dan Lutz, himself an accomplished runner, agreed, saying: "This is a great way for Brook Park to give back something to the community".
We are also pleased to announce the winners of two $1,000 scholarships, awarded to those applicants who best represented Joe's spirit of teamwork. They are Canaan Colwick (rowing) and Dawn Murphy (soccer). Congratulations to both!
